Growing up "Richie" as we called him was bigger than most of the boys his age. Richard was a gentle giant, and I remember he had the best smile with perfect teeth. His mother was from France, and she too had perfect teeth. Richard  was alway so nice and sweet to me, and told me when we grew up he was going to marry me. It was a very sad day when he was killed in Viet Nam. I lost a very dear dear friend, as so many of us in that war.

Richie was my neighbor. We grew up 2 houses apart and we were friends.  He had two sisters. Evon and Evett.  We went for our service physical together--He passed but I had a heart murmur and was turned down.  I was hurt to learn of his death. He was a great friend and a great Guy.
